Case Study: Mapping DMR Volumes for Strategic Site Acquisition

Client: Leading independent waste management and treatment organisation

The WasteVyne was engaged to assess Dry Mixed Recycling (DMR) volumes around several potential acquisition sites. The study focused on quantifying material by key EWC codes and visualising availability within 50-mile and 100-mile catchments.

The results were presented in a dynamic infographic:

A UK map highlights each site with concentric 50-mile and 100-mile zones. Points across the map indicate locations where DMR volumes were recorded, with associated EWC codes showing the type of material available.

This approach provided a clear, at-a-glance view of regional waste density, helping stakeholders understand material accessibility, optimise logistics and plan operational capacity. By linking geographic proximity with material type and volume, The WasteVyne delivered actionable intelligence to support strategic acquisition decisions and ensure long-term feedstock security.
