Changes to landfill tax came into effect in April 2025 in England and Northern Ireland, with the standard rate increasing by 21% up to £126.15 per tonne and the lower rate by nearly 23% to £4.05 per tonne.

Or will it be counter-productive and impact negatively on both households and businesses, at a time when companies are already struggling with increased operational costs?
